Clarendon sets up debris disposal sites

For residents wondering what to do with storm debris, Clarendon Administrator David Epperson said six sites will be open for the "disposal of all vegetative debris associated with the recent weather event." "The following sites will be available for Clarendon County residents to dispose of vegetative debris using private trucks and vehicles without charge," Epperson said. The sites will be open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday; noon to 5 p.m. Sunday; 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Feb. 22; and noon to 5 p.m. Feb. 23. Davis Station Recycling Center, 5442 Moses Dingle Road in Davis Station; Turbeville Recycling Center, 1971 Old Manning Road in Turbeville; The Clarendon County Landfill, 2475 J.W. Rhames Road in Manning; Panola Recycling Center, 4773 Gov. Richardson Road in Summerton; Wash Davis Road Site (Summerton Sprayfield), Wash Davis Road in Summerton; Oakdale Recycling Center, 10752 Black River Road in New Zion. All debris sites are located adjacent to the recycling center, unless otherwise noted. All commercial vendors (trucks and vehicles contracted to dispose of vegetative debris) are required to go to the Clarendon County Landfill, and will be subject to the weight tipping fees at the landfill.
