SUMMERTON — James Luther Brooker, 56, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

 

Born Nov. 13, 1957, in Philadelphia, Pa., he was a son of Mamie Trawick Brooker and the late Charles t. Brooker. He attended the Wissahickon School System in Ambler, Pa., and Montgomery Community College in Blue Bell, Pa. He was employed by Atlantis Petroleum Industries, and later as a cashier. James made his dedication to Jehovah in 1985 and serves as a pioneer and ministerial servant.

 

Survivors besides his mother include his grandmother, Ocie Mae Kinsey-Trawick; four brothers, Charles, Douglas, Vindon and Anthony; four sisters, Sheena, Mona, Shari and Tuesday; three sisters-in-law; a brother-in-law; two aunts; and an uncle.

 

Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at Manning Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Greeleyville Highway in Manning, with discourse by Edward Ross Sr.

 

The family received friends at the home, 1672 Steven Road in Summerton.
