Berkeley native named vice-chairman of SCDOT Commission

COLUMBIA - A Berkeley County native has been named the vice-chairman for the state Department of Transportation Commission. Jim Rozier was elected in 1990 to be the Berkeley County supervisor, and was re-elected in 1994, 1998 and 2002. Before his first election win, he was in corporate management for more than 30 years. He now manages several businesses under the Rozier Group LLC. He attended Clemson University; completed the Institute of Government at the University of South Carolina; and attended the civiilan session of the U.S. War College.

Rozier was named vice-chairman on Jan. 16 during a meeting in which commission members also elected Gaffney resident W.B. Cook of the 5th Congressional Disrict to serve as chairman. He worked for Broad River Electric Cooperative from 1967 through his retirement in 2009.
