Clarendon County School District hosts inspiring visit from Benedict College president and Marching Band of Distinction

Clarendon County School District was honored to welcome Dr. Rosalyn Clark Artis. President of Benedict College, along with the electrifying Marching Band of Distinction, to F.E. DuBose Career Center for the Clarendon to Benedict College Gateway Tour filled with excitement and educational enrichment.

“Dr. Artis’s visit to our district was a testament to our commitment to fostering a culture of higher education aspirations among our students." stated Dr. Shawn Johnson, Superintendent. “Her presence not only instilled a sense of pride but also ignited a spark of enthusiasm for academic excellence and future possibilities.”

As a renowned leader in higher education, Dr. Artis shared invaluable insights about Benedict College and it’s programs of study and opportunities for Clarendon County students.

Accompanying Dr. Artis, the Marching Band of Distinction brought an exhilarating energy that captivated our students and staff alike. Their remarkable performance showcased the power of creativity, teamwork, and dedication, serving as a reminder of the boundless opportunities that await those who dare to dream big.

Throughout the visit, students were engaged in questions and answer discussions and provided with resources and information available to support their academic journey. From admissions guidance to scholarship opportunities, our partnership with Benedict College aims to empower students with the knowledge and tools needed to excel in their educational pursuits.
